The Reuse Trail is a directory of reuse stores in Tompkins County. It was created in 2013 by Get Your GreenBack Tompkins in collaboration with local reuse stores to showcase the wealth of reuse, resale and thrift stores in Ithaca and Tompkins County.

Originally envisioned as a rack card that all reuse stores would display to customers, the Reuse Trail added an online directory a few years later, and has incorporated a number of promotional events, including an interactive treasure hunt.
We found that most people had heard of some of the stores, but everybody was surprised by the number and variety of secondhand stores that we have available. Originally called “Reuse Tompkins”, in 2017 we rebranded it as the Reuse Trail of Tompkins County—perhaps the first such trail in the country!
