An expansion of the Energy Advising program to the Southern Tier region, Smart Energy Choices connects trained Community Energy Advisors to residents, providing resources on energy efficiency, renewable heat, and solar.

This program also provides support for small businesses and non-profits, as well as multi-family homes, connecting them with programs and incentives to improve energy efficiency. 

Smart Energy Choices was created in 2017, and is a collaboration of Get Your GreenBack Tompkins with the Cornell Cooperative Extension offices of Chemung, Delaware, Schuyler, and Tompkins Counties. Smart Energy Choices has also expanded to the Central New York, North Country, and Mid-Hudson regions of New York State, and is funded through NYSERDA’s Community Energy Engagement Program.
